My first encounter with Turkey began in Istanbul, a city of layered histories and restless energy. Traveling onward through İzmir, Denizli, Şirince, and Konya, I experienced a shifting dialogue between ancient sites, natural landscapes, and everyday life—from Ephesus to Pamukkale.
Ĺžirince offered quiet intimacy, while Konya became the most spiritual experience. Unplanned, I arrived at the resting place of Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi and witnessed the Sema ceremony. The whirling movement deeply influenced my sketches, introducing rhythm, repetition, and a sense of inner stillness.

My works from this journey remain minimal—gestural, atmospheric, and intuitive—capturing not place, but the subtle transitions between history, spirituality, and personal perception.
